This is the only EXISTING video of Frisco 1522 on the AGS North in Alabama. This is treat because this is one of my pride and joys. But due to tapes getting old, digitizing is a must.. Thought I'd share only a taste of the whole video. Video taken May 28, 1994.

Scenes:

1st: Fort Payne, Alabama
2nd: Attalla, Alabama
3rd: Whitney Junction, Alabama
4th: Springville, Alabama

  • She looks and sounds a lot like a Southern Rwy. locomotive.

  • The audio of this clip climbing that grade says it all. 1522 was a beauty.

  • HOD was nice enough to repaint it to its original color now she needs to run the rails before they decide to put it in a museum

  • they need to rebuild the frisco 4018 and put her back on the rails

  • come back to us Frisco #1522 we miss you but beautiful engine and great vid

  • oh man, 1522 really got around!

I can't tell you how much this footage makes me smile. When I was little, I used to watch 1522 all the time. It's a shame they had to shut her down. I hope they can find a way to bring her back in steam.

  • I second that statement!

    Awesome video!

  • now thats somethin you don't see on norfolk southern every day. steam haulin frieght. awsome video cary.

  • WOW! Unbelievable footage. That is great stuff Carey!

  • Cary, you know how much this video means to me! One of my favorite engines in its only appearance on one of my favorite rail lines, practically at my back door. Thanks for posting it. I woulda been there with ya if I had been older and 'in-the-know' back then.
