I saw him in Denver in, sometime between 1969 and 1972. I had some of his albums and lost them to a flood. His voice has haunted me all these years. Thanks for posting this. It's good to know he's still singing.

I was sitting with Tom Paxton at the 1965 Newport Folk Festival when Andersen performed Violets for an afternoon audience. He said it was the consensus of his fellow performers that Eric Andersen had the best voice of the whole lot. It was, indeed, a beautiful voice.

Yeah, it was out first in '66 I think, but didnt he re-record all that stuff maybe a year later? He redid the same album. Its a great album, amazing songs!

Eric's daughter who often sings with him is Sari Andersen, not Signe (who is another daughter). She also has sung harmony on his CDs, notably Beat Avenue.
-
Uh, I think I'd much rather listen to her Dad... ;)

Her name is Signe Violet Andersen. I don't know if she has any songs here, but I belive she has a myspace site.He style is quite different from her fathers, but the girl has a beautiful voice:)

@boshman11 Omgosh, is Eric still there? I hope he liked the video I shot of him. I believe many fans come here to youtube to find his music. He does not tour as much as we'd like and for some, this is the only way they'll get to see him. Thank you for commenting! And thank you, Mr. Andersen for all your wonderful music!

His daughter is also a very good singer, the two of them singing together is magic.

Really, cimmy84? I didn't know he had a daughter. What's her name? Do you know if she tours regularly?

Actually, he is much, much better than Cohen as both a songwriter and a singer. Underappreciated is probably an understatement!
He is simply another legend that came out of Grenwich Village in the early 60's. His songs have been covered by numerous singers of all ilks.
I said back then I thought he was better than Dylan. I still do.

Thank you for your comments, 967anon! Indeed, Eric Andersen is a great artist. The Village in those days was a hot spot of musical creativity with the likes of Andersen, Tim Buckley, Tim Hardin, Dylan, etc. all playing at one time. Hard to believe. I would say it was the Tin Pan Alley of folk music. :)
