Many ordinary people simply cant afford to have kids in Japan's highly competitive and very expensive society. In the end Economics is the primary cause of Japan's birth rate decline.

This video correctly noted that the problem is lack of population growth. But it didn't mention the fact that in Japan abortion is the most common form of birth control - about 300,000 a year. Abortion clinics are almost as common as fast food restaurants. And girls as young as 13 can have an abortion without parental permission. It would be great if adoption would become more socially acceptable there and women would have their babies and find a good home for them. That would help everyone.
