  • Peony Pavilion is the most popular and most difficult play in Chinese classic theatre (every much like Romeo & Julia to Shakespeare). There are thousands of different versions. Traditionally, the leading roles of this play were played by experienced Kun performers. The version, that we are watching, uses all young actors and actresses; it was produced in 2004 to attract young audiences in China. So it is called youth edition Peony Pavilion.

  • I wish there was english subtitles D:

  • Wow! I'm a major fan of this opera; saw THE PEONY PAVILLON once in the approx. 12h version on German TV and was fascinated beyond all measure.
