Great documentary. I'm not too sure about the "investigation" angle though. The mock FBI scenes distract rather than add to the experience for me. Though that may be a lack of vision on my part. I felt the same about the PKD product satire in the BBC arena documentary as well.

i agree.  i dont know why documentary filmmakers do this. dicks life was fascinating enough in its own right to merit a straightforward approach. the interviews stand on their own.

I agree as well, it seems very campy. Especially where it concerns Dick; with his story being so tragic. I do see the point, though, in that it shows you the kind of world he thought he was living in (being monitored constantly and rigorously by some unknown force). And there's also a certain credible element to it, in that Dick's own work makes fun of itself. He is infamous for making fun of himself in a very honest and distinct way.


But over alll it's sophomoric, distracting and campy.

IMO these scenes are a necessity in biography documentaries so that one will not be overwhelmed by the constant interviews,,,,
