For Narnia Fans!

If you have not read the Narnia books, this video contains huge spoilers for the The Last Battle and unless you don't mind getting spoiled we advise you don't watch it.

Our first Narnia video!

Since we started school we have been able to listen to a lot of audio books while we do art work etc.. And the whole Susan situation in The Last Battle inspired us so much, and you know we express our inspiration in our video's. We hope some of you have read The Last Battle and could enjoy this video!

For Subscribers!

Next week we only have 1 class because of Thanksgiving!! So we will have plenty of time hopefully to answer back messages, comments,Finish video's etc.. Which we haven't had much time to do because I (Samantha) made a mistake and signed us up for two art classes this quarter =( and we have had hardly any free time.

Song: Never Alone by Barlow Girl
Clips Used: Narnia movies, Multiple Jennifer Connelly movies
Program Used: Sony Vegas 7.0
Summary: Years after the death of her whole family in a Train Accident. Susan starts to remember the world she tried so hard to forget, and starts to go crazy as she thinks of her time there with her lost siblings that she still grieves for.

As you may know if you read the final Narnia book after her siblings die they went to The New Narnia aka Aslan's Country, and should remember that towards the end of this video.

Older Susan - Jennifer Connelly

  • D-does that actually really happened in narnia the last battle or ... you just made that up...????? S-someone, answer me...!

  • @PearlAisy246 Her siblings did die,but we made up the part about her killing herself.

  • @Sjjtnj So, in the REAL BOOK, they die? her siblings???

  • @PearlAisy246 Yes her whole family dies in the beginning of the book.

  • Does she kill herself at the end?

  • Yeah she did

  • You're reading waaaay too much into it. Susan had marriage proposals when she was still a queen in Narnia, so Lewis obviously had no problem with her having an adult sexuality. The problem was that she forgot about Narnia and was more interested in going to parties and pursuing frivolous things. The nylons / lipstick stuff or whatever is just incidental to that.

  • What johnmcclen said. Plus, although TCON is clearly abuot Christianity, CS Lewis was Church of England, not Catholic.

Narnia is not a "metaphor for Catholic scripture" is it a world that is parallel to ours, and the things that happen there are meant to parallel what Lewis believed happened/will happen in ours eg Aslan and the stone table and Jesus and the cross.

  • I read somewhere that CS Lewis, when asked about Susan once said "her story isn't over yet". So, it's likely that he died before he got to finish her story. It probably had something to do with redemption and such. And then there's the whole "once a king/queen of Narnia, always a king/queen of Narnia." Great video btw!

  • the link for the originial audio isn't specified. It just sends us to the main page. :(

  • With the past three films now adapted, we see some things added that were not in the books, so there is STILL hope that Susan will recognize Narnia as a real place in the end of The Last Battle and join her siblings, despite not having believed before. However, the films do not appear to hold back from ending bittersweetly or sad somehow so there IS still a chance that Susan will NOT go to Aslan's country, but we might see a hint towards a later change of faith. I'm pretty sure it will b either.

  • @belianis Thanks :)

  • @amm019 Good luck with that; it would be very much interesting to read the story that CSL did not get to write.

  • It was really good, aside from the song being jumpy in parts...
