@mrsOdin Surf rods are actually pretty hard to find, you have to look around and keep your eye out. Anything that's 8-12lb rated and at least 7'6 will work great.

You don't need really long rods here. The action is pretty close to shore; no need to cast way the heck out there unless you want a ray or shark. If you have a medium action trout or bass rod, you're good.
