Monumenta Musica Neerlandica
from the Susanne van Soldt manuscript:
Brabantsche Rondedans (fragment).
played by ernst stolz netherlands

Susanne van Soldt was a 12-year-old daughter, of a wealthy merchant, a protestant refugee from the Netherlands, who lived in London. Hans van Soldt from Antwerp in 1577, probably after the plundering of Antwerp (1576). After 1605, they must have moved to Amsterdam, where he worked for the East Indian Company. The manuscript with the virginal music, however remained in London.. it once was owned by the same owner, who also owned the My Lady Nevell's Booke.
The first pieces are probably written in the Netherlands, while some English music is added in the London period, with remarks by hear keyboard teacher.
This book contains the only source for pre-Sweelinck Dutch keyboard music!

  • this is a harpichord; or a clavecimbel as we call it it in dutch. I am very proud to be a Brabander. Best region in the world (Vlemish and Dutch)!

  • I don't know Eddie van Halen.

  • Oh, this sounds really noble! And hey, those quasi rubatos makes it super expressive!

Oh and on a side-note, how many pedal does your harpsichord have? Since it is using a different sets of strings?

  • i wanna know who the 3 dipshits were that were like..."Nope! I Dissapprove of this! It does not meet my standards!... like another person who actually can play one of those or even have access to one watched this and was like " Pah this Nube can suck it! He's totally lame at that thing! pahaha Dislike." What a cupple of faggos is all im sayin I thought ur song was cool I love that style of music... and Deathmetal.

  • love this sound makes me think deep about the past

  • I had to come back for a "second helping". Greetings from an early music fan in Finland
