@saqib053 Saqib, this is a "MIX", by Karunesh from his album, Global Spirit, Track number 3 Punjab. Its most popular version is by Surinder Kaur, later copied and sung for the Pakistani panjabis by Musarrat Nazir, due to stupid political tensions created by politicians.

personally LOVE Surinder Kaurs version, sadly she passed away in 2006. Amazing talent, spanning over 60 years....

Nobody wrote Panjabi Folk, but Surinder Kaur is one of those rare Gems that made it her own.

@godsoldier in subconitnent for old songs like this you cant say the original version is sung by surinder. m not dening thay she didnt sung. in india she has the copy rights and in Pakistan Musarat Nazir. The thing is that this is very old song originated from punjabi culture. Singing and making different versions and mixing gives the rights to the owner.

@mrkawal91 and @godsoldier The main reasoning behind all this is its a very old cultural song of Punjab so copying thing does not comply with it. Surinder has her own version Musart has her own so cheers and enjoy the song.

@godsoldier How was it copied by mussarat nazir when the song is incredibly old? The fact is that Mussarat Nazir actually brought attention to this song and its poetry more than anyone! People still remember this song by Musarrat Nazir's name!

@saqib053 Of course that doesn't make it his. Its like Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, who also sang many lok geets, but his style of singing, made that song his own. Nobody can do it better than him. In this case, Surinder Kaur & Parkash Kaur (many many other singers) have made certain songs their own. The public know they didn't write them, yet we accept and OK with the fact that a perticular version is better. Challa wasn't written by Gurdas Maan, but his version of it, made Chall famous and him

Its Panjabi Lok Geet or Folk as its now know and it wasn't written by any one person, its more tribal and songs differ from tribe to tribe. Believe me you Saqib, we know what we are talking about. BUT for Indian Panjabis its a FACT that the way Surinder Kaur sang these songs, she has made it her own
