After buying this for spares for my then daily rider (which didn't need any in the end!) and another one to add to the collection of bits + lots of hours in the garage = this rather swanky result that i now use every day to get to work.

  • thanks, i soaked it for a week in petrol! that shifted any old oil and luckly the old oil had preserved the chain a treat.

  • I did have a rattle but it's sorted now....the camera i recorded this on picks up on some noise and made it sound alot worse than it was. It was valve clearances in the end! I have since sold the bike and built the 350 flat tracker (other video). Thats for sale at the mo so i can get on with another project! Great fun old bikes are you know!

  • Cool project, very nicely done. I like the front too, the fork looks a bit like a Jawa, how did you do that?

  • Regarding the front end, Its all standard except for the lowering and the paint. See the early CB's were really attractive. I'm running a superdream 400 ('84) at the moment to give me chance to do up my '71 cb350!

  • Damn that is one clean chain

  • Love these . I used to have the 250 G5 .then i brought the CJ250T . It's loohing classy .

  • you have a cam chain problem with that thing

  • it was fine handleing wise to be honest but the forks would bottom out as they lost some travel and had more weight over the front. The biggest problem i had was the cafe racer position played havoc with my elbows!

  • Did lowering the forks affect the handling significantly? And, I'm looking forward to your upcoming project.

  • the front is a little lower due to the forks being lifted through the yolks a bit to allow the clip ons to be fitted and the tyres are different which had an effect but they are sweet little bikes. sadly i sold this one but i have a 350 which i'm working on which will be just as nice when its done.
