you could lose the ability to think clearly, the majority of any talent is the way you think.

I rip sheets from a large sketch pad and stuff them in my pockets and do the exercise in clases that I usualy fall asleep in.

I just want to say thank you. You have literally enabled me to increase my rather limited artistic skills tenfold overnight . Being 46 I am living proof an old dog can be instructed in the ways of the new , thank you again. :-)

i heard psychotropic ones can bust ones creative flow. Something that doesn't affect ur motor skills but give u all sorts of visual "enhancements"
something like LSD or shrooms.
i've never tried them myself. probably never will.

Thanks for the exercises, I plan on doing these along with the instrument handling. I really have never seen these techniques before, I wish I lived around where you teach.
Anyways, thanks!

I think the amount of time you "clock in" is highly dependent on how passionate you are about drawing or art. He mentioned that he did/does the exercises all times of the day, at any free moment. Obviously this is an extreme, but still an option.
Personally I am going to heed his advice and practice it whenever I am not doing something that requires pinpoint focus. Like I would do it while I was eating, in the car (not driving of course), etc.

im clocking roughly an hour daily, sometimes 2 hours or so with the exception of the odd day, am I doing enough.
one question..
do u think drugs could make a person loose there skills at drawing?

Well, I think it depends on the drug. If it's alcohol, it makes me into a sloppy artist. I also don't care enough to do a good job. I still have the skills, but being drunk takes away the discipline needed to do a good job.
Same can be said for pot.
I haven't experienced any other drugs, so who knows?
