B. knight to a3 is pretty uncommon?! If B. knight goes to c3 then white can kick B. bishop by h3. If capture, the trap has failed. but you have won a minor advantage with W.Q.F3. However if the B. bishop moves one back to maintain pin capture on e5 with W. knight. if queen is captured, mate attack still applies. If recaptured knight you can capture B. Bishop with W.Qe5, being ahead 1 pawn in material.

after knight to c3 if black moves pawn to c6, wouldn't that also stop checkmate?

@h0wC4nUseeM3 yes c6 would stop this mate attack if he did that but more than likely he would develop a knight or bishop but yes that would change the position
