Excess practicing on SCS.3d, traditionally not known for doing club stuff, so here are some cuts. This video was filmed after Excess had the SCS.3d for 3 days... Just a few clips, just for fun...

  • i wanted to buy one of these as a live performance scratcher... but is it any good at that? all the videos i can find of scarcthing it sounds lousy but the people just might suck at it... i imgagine you could use the volume like a hamster switch if you use 2 fingers, having one hold it either all the way up or down on volume, and tapping in and out as you scratch... but, if it is gonna sound like lousy scratchin i may not get one. a vid of that would be nice. you are good with the vinyl...

  • Noize,

DaScratch is a midi controller so the only limitation of the scratching is going to be decided by the software that you choose to use. If I were you I would research some software companies that you may want to use.

  • Seriously love what Stanton has done with the software side of this unit.

I am a big big fan of the Bomes midi product that is powering the software and know its going to have an absolutely massive impact on what can be done with the unit - huge props to Stanton for seeing midi translations as part of the future for digital djing.

Keep up the good work, you guys have earned a lot of respect points in my books with the execution of software side of this device.

  • Thanks! Your the first person to actually comment on that. We have been working with Bomes for quite some time now and hands down they are some of the most professional developers on earth.

We started from the ground up with product, trying to create something that could be focused into use cases by presets but flexible enough to where every LED can be controlled individually.

We certainly can't wait to see what people do with presets.

  • well since I'm the only one scratching on here with a 3D, I'll assume you mean me. First, I don't use a soundcard in my vids. I like to show what set-ups can do on a bare minimum. 2nd, as with anything, one gets better with PRACtiCe. Take another look and you'll see how much I've improved in a short period. Since you have no vids of you djing. Let's assume that all of your experience is 2nd hand and let me give you a bit of advise. All scratching sounds cool when YOU are doing it. Get a 3d !

  • Wow he's really whacking it at the beginning! It just needs a light touch. (Not like he's gonna break it though. It's pretty tough.)

  • how much for the dascratch?
