Coming real close to Mach 1, this rocket flew possibly 4,000 feet up. It flew off the pad like a bullet at an estimated 675 MPH.

I should add that there was very little change from the kit instructions in putting this rocket together. I left the baffle in (unfortunately because it limits length of the casing) but did not install the steel mesh or the engine hook. It will take up to a 4-grain Cesaroni casing.

I used Liquid Nails to glue the fins into the finlock and the motor tube, and used CA to glue the fins to the airframe. I also added a second length of elastic shock cord. Other than that, there was no construction change.

I reefed the chute about 9" up from where the shrouds attached to the shock cord to limit how wide it opened, which speeds up descent.

If you want to try this, make sure you have a lot of spotters, because it isn't easy to find. I also suggest a red chute instead of the yellow one provided by Aerotech.
