Mavrovic was a magnificent fighter. He was technically good, tough and fast. Lewis outfought him over twelve gruelling rounds and Mavrovic was never the same. No one should snipe at either fighter - it is all up there on YouTube - as is this one. Why should anyone want to take anything away from Lewis, who beat every man who ever stepped into a ring with him? It is all up here for anyone to see.

September 1998 would be Zeljiko Mavrovic.

Who was that? He was a very tough, very fit Croatian. He was undefeated at 27-0 of which 22 were by knockout and as with most of Lewis's fights he was the WBC's number one contender.

The fact is this undefeated Croatian was a freak of nature, this should have been another Shannon Briggs but the dude could take a punch like nobody.

You can quote tabloids all day, I actually remember the fights.

Lewis was 32nd on that list, and the man above him was Clevland Williams who was never a champion and is best know for getting knocked out by real greats. The man above that was Sam McVey who retired 100 years ago and who we know fuck all about.

This list is just a great example of the kinda shit Lewis had to put up with in his career.
