He is absolutely right about socialism- it never works and never will

Capitalism is the astounding belief that the most wickedest of men will do the most wickedest of things for the greatest good of everyone
(John Maynard Keynes)

also, how could he have seen it "from the inside"? unless he has been to sweden, probably the only country in the world to have come anywhere near to what could be described as socialist?
-
what a tired remark. It has been used over and over again over the years and just goes to show how little cameron (and anyone else who uses it) know's about what socialism actually is. Socialism does not require the state to run things, it requires people. Those who think socialism is when the government owns and runs everything are ignorant fools who don't read into both sides of the argument and only believe and take note of whatever supports their side of the argument.

@wrathofgod8668 Nothing personal I promise - but it's "Couldn't have said it" HAVE not OF. Really grinds my gears. That is all

@bonfirejovi HA! I'm not surprised that a conservative needs simple economics explained. When there is a recession, GDP deflates. Trillions are lost in value. Debt spending makes up for that loss. It is borderline insane to suggest that during a shrinking of the economy that you suggest to shrink it more by cutting spending. Even Reagan understood this.
Look it up for yourself. Total private debt is over 50 trillion. Yet cons whine about public debt as destructive! Laughable!!!!

@detoth67 lol you are telling other people to educate themselves when you cannot even separate the free market or capitalism from the conservative party. please enlighten me on what a public debt has to do with free markets? what does public spending have to do with the private sector?
and "3/4s" was NOT on defense spending, stop making up stuff. in fact nearly 60% of the 2010 federal budget is on welfare of some sort while national defense makes up nearly 20%
Also where did you get 50 trillion
-
The problem is that while knee jerk reactionary conservatives whine about debt and blame it on the phantom of "socialism", your beloved private sector in the US has over 50 trillion in debt.
WHile you blame "socialism" for our debt, GOP presidents spent 3/4s of it and most of it was defense spending.
Grow up and educate yourself with reality!
Couldn't of said it better myself.

I admit that Tony Blair and Gordon Brown were both awful but the sooner Labour have power again the better.
