  • Giampaolo, grazie del tuo prezioso contributo! Un caro saluto.

  • This is Maria Callas in "Somnambula" in 1955.

Ciao - Giampaolo

  • @jewelmarkess OMG! LOL I'd also recommend everybody to listen to recordings of e.g. alto castrato Senesino, Guadagni,... well, not only castrati, but women baroque singers too like Margherita Durastani made live at their performances more than 200 years ago. The quality is just amazing! Handel himself recorded some pieces on his video camera with high definition! LOL And we are so lucky to have an opportunity to listen to such "hidden treasures" posted on YT now! Long live modern technology! LOL

  • @jewelmarkess Thanks for the info. I just like to hear amazing voices. Most voices are not pure or even on every level of pitch. I am amazed at Giuditta Pasta's superlative technique.

  • @arpeggio1358 I hear Manuel Garcia was a fantastic tenor.

  • @jewelmarkess I think voizovrsn would like Filippo Galli also, the fantastic bass for whom all those Rossini coloratura bass roles were written.

  • @voizovrsn Probably in 1831 during the first performance of La Sonnambula, isn't the quality amazing? I really suggest listening to Maria Malibran as well, she was also great in this same role. If you like baroque, you may also enjoy Farinelli who I hear was fantastic in baroque repertory with his crystal clear voice and unmatched power that is impossible to find today.

  • This is an amazing voice, so flexible and full and clear at every range. I would like to know more about Giuditta Pasta. At what date was this recording made?

  • Espantosa força dramática.

  • Sure it's not Florence Foster Jenkins ??????
