This is SO GREAT I'm surprised there aren't hundreds of comments. This is such a classic. AND WHERE DID YOU GET SUCH A "CLEAR" VIDEO ?
-
I always thought Dr. Hook was rather obscure and just some weird band my parents listened to on road trips and when their strange smelling friends came over. When I heard them singing this tune in "Almost Famous" I was quite surprised.

What a bunch of stoners

I went to college with the guy that set up for these guys. Man did he have stories for days
-
actually he puts the bandana over the mic to distort his voice for the part that he sings not because he had an issue with the rest of the band or anything like that. it puts a barrier there for soundwaves to distort and get deep like that

@MyCarla27 Uh...what?

@HOUNDDAWG It didn't show dedication to music lol they were all BAKED!

And they are so, so wasted. They’re probably on coke. The electric guitarist very obviously has something against the rest of the band and there’s some kind of rivalry happening. Every time the electric guitarist goes to sing he puts a red bandanna over the microphone; he doesn’t want to sing into the same microphone that the other singer is singing into.

Fun video but they looked so grody. I played a show with CROW (EVIL WOMAN DON'T PLAY YOUR GAMES WITH ME) in 1970 and the singer was wearing the same unwashed tee shirt he wore at WOODSTOCK and it was nasty. I loved rock & roll too but I was super clean and a clothes horse. And, I never understood why anyone thought poor hygiene signaled dedication to music anymore than catching scabies would.

At the end of the video: George: I'm a spider.... playin the guitar! Mmmm....space.
