I had a wonderful guide/pedicab rider who showed me around the beautiful city of San Diego, we visited the streets where I saw & spoke to some homeless people as well as the Marina and all its glory.

  • Alex is one Hell of a guy! I lived in SD from 93 to 99 & would check things out downtown & at Seaport Village quite often, running into Alex on several occasions. He's a great guy to chat with & he is very intelligent, don't let him fool you, lol. I think he actually likes being homeless personally? It's great to see he's still around. Thanks for sharing this video. You do realize Alex is his street name right?

  • A lot of money spent on gay marriage? Bitch you crazy

  • Sad but true

  • San Diego is one of the priciest zip codes in the US.

there are a lot easier places to get on your feet than there, but there are no a lot of places that are easier to live on the streets for as long as he has.

  • You can try to justify your lack of a social conscience all you like but the majority of homeless have either physical or mental illness or a drug addiction, this is a social issue - a lack of public housing & health. I hope you sleep well at night in your bed.

  • but he looks healthy and serene. he has been at it for 20 years, that leads me to believe it is by choice. the American system is dog eat dog, not everybody wants to play that game. do you think he would be happier working at Wal Mart and handing over more than half his paycheck for a tiny 1 bedroom apartment? and that would be if he moved about 15 miles inland.

your video is good and your hearts in the right place, but it's called learned helplessness, that is what most homeless people develop.
