Miljanovic, the winner of the Henkel Art.Award 2009, uses art as a means of social interaction, often based on his own personal experience in Bosnia-Herzegovina. The artist has chosen the Zastava - the legendary Yugoslavian automobile that remained in production until 2008 - as the central focus of the exhibition at the MUMOK Factory. Disassembled into its individual parts and integrated into new contexts, Miljanovic looks at the general form of the Zastava 101 and its components as a kind of 'applied social art'. As part of the exhibition, the artist will during a seven-day performance work as a chauffeur for visitors to the MUMOK, use the headrests as a medium of reproduction for interviews, examine the potential use of safety belts as an instrument of discipline and restriction and finally cement the entire Zastava into a single form.
