dp the pickups hum a lot? was thinking of getting one. cant resist the temptation.. :P

Hmm... My friend got one of these used for $350 at GC. At first we were both wowed by it, but now he's considering selling it...
In my opinion, the guitar is (if this is possible) TOO perfect. It's not rough enough. Godly sound though. I think it's just my weirdness. I was surprised to not like it, especially since I LOVE P-90s.

Just snagged a used one at my local guitar shop. Have only played a few hours, but will be putting in time on this one. BTW, great bends, and good technique..

I like how you documented exactly what you are playing through and which settings you change throughout the video. Thats extremely helpful and something that most people, unfortunately, do not do.
Nice video.
I am really considering the soapbar model. Its between this and an Epi '56 Goldtop with the P90's. What can you tell me ?

Thanks! There is a real decision to be made as far as feel between the two. A good Epi/Les Paul always adds a sense of 'heft' to the playing experience that is beyond the Soapbar. Translate as: sustain. punch, smoothness. My gripe with Gibson/Epi is that the quality control is a rollercoaster. PRS is consistant. So if you find a 'magic' Epi, you will know immediately if that's your beast. My personal choice in that comparison was the PRS.

Personally I play classic nylon stringed. I have owned a Strat and LP but overally I wasn't pleased. They are like French Fries... Good for everyone. I am more of a telecaster player these days and I was planning to build my first partscaster but then started looking at flat top gibsons (junior and double cut) and eventually the PRS.
Checked out the custom but I found its pickups to be rather muddy considering their low output. Great ergonomy though that's why I am considering the soapbar.

I side by side compared this to a LP Special. This won. The price is a bonus. I have played LP Jr's I have liked, but the consistancy is not what it has been. There is going to be a drastic difference between this and a Tele. Tele's have a 'springier' character. I am always looking at Tele's...was tempted by an ASAT when I was buying this.
