CHANNEL 7 viewers were sending out their own calls for help last night when an obscene phrase aired repeatedly, and unexpectedly, during the 7.30 broadcast of Mayday: Head On Collision.

A five-minute audio loop, exclaiming, "Jesus Christ, help us, oh Lord. F---!" could be heard by viewers instead of the intended audio.

The problem appeared to have been fixed, but returned about 10 minutes later, forcing Seven to run an extended ad break while it fixed the problem.
