This is some footage showing the creation and eventual flight of a huge glow-stick structure that the crew from the MetaLab created and launched over the HAR camp. It was an amazing bit of planning and work, really. They calculated the weight of all their glow sticks and support bars, then were able to determine how much lifting force from Helium they'd need. Then, they could calculate the necessary size of their weather baloons (1.8 meters in diameter, they judged to be necessary) to help us with the filling... since we had no gauge on the tank.

In the end, the entire structure flew amazingly well... then was caught by high winds and tangled in a tree for a bit. After one balloon popped and it fell to earth, some of us went running off through the forest and across fields to find it. We pulled off some of the longer and heavier glow stick elements, and then cut all surplus ropes. Then, we set it free, letting it fly away to be seen for miles at it drifted among the breezes. I wonder where it ever wound up!
