The winds came at the absolute worst time, and they were horrendous.
I know that we were blown pretty bad for a couple of days here in the Phoenix area, and they came from the same system.
I'm so grateful we don't have any fires right now.
If I were religious, I'd pray for a good, solid soaking for you guys.

I know three families up at the San Bernardino
mountian they still haven't been allowed up there. Those firemen are awesome people I don't think they get enough praise they have fought so hard. They say some have been up for days.

Normally they have 16 hour shifts but that all went out the window last week. I have heard of some of them working 32 hours...

Of the known causes, one of the biggest ones is arson. The Malibu fire was caused by downed powerlines from wind. Another one was caused by a truck backfire. Many are from burning embers traveling through the sky miles and landing in other areas. The rest are under investigation.

I really hope that the fires don't make it to your area of the desert. At least you are prepared for the worst. Is everyone else there going to be able to take their belongings with them?
