idles too low? says who? wtf do they know, anyways i like the way your 97 sounds i have a 2005 and its injected so it just wont ever sound like that!! id much rather have a carb..

@obiwan5150 thanks man, i appreciate it! i like the injection bikes too. they each have their ups and downs. nothin sounds like a carb engine, but nothin cranks like a FI engine...lol

this bike is COOOOLD natured!! my buddies with FI harleys will be warmed up and ready to ride about the time i can finally cut off the choke! lol

almost 10 minutes between first crank and take off... the rest of the day, its fine to at least...but the sound is worth it to me tho. wish they still made em carbed

@obiwan5150 It IS idling too slow. Maybe they do know something you don't, like oil pressure drops to shit at such a low RPM, spark plugs may foul, hard to start and off-idle throttle response suffers.

@Hammered001 please read the comments before posting. you would see that your statements have already been addressed. oil pressure has been adressed by a high pressure oil pump. spark plugs do not foul. high end plugs and a very hot ignition solve this problem. no harder to start than any other carb harley. and throttle response is more than fantastic. its a drag bike for the most part... as i have said before many times, FULLY BUILT...not pieced together. and a side note, its idling HIGH here.

@Hammered001 idling too slow? what does that even mean? bikes not moving so how is it slow? anyway i think maybe you THINK you know more than you actually do! sorry to break the news to you, maybe its you that are slow? hmmm something to think about anyway..

@LeadSlinger89 Yeah, doesn't matter what you ride, gotta be smart. Too many people just don't get that. But I agree, they're all fun! 2 wheels and the wind beats any car or truck I've had.

@CrudeDude no, im not blocking you, (yet) because you raised a good point and an even better conversation topic. speed does kill, no doubt, but what kills even more riders is complacency. when you loose the fear/respect of the bike and the risks involved with riding, is when things stand a higher chance of going south. nevertheless, when on a bike, you MUST pay attention to cars, as a bike is EASILY hidden by the pillars. loud pipes save lives. IMO. if you can hear it b4 u c it, youre safer.

@turbomaxx i have had both. some of them at the same time. crashed a GSX-R 750 because i was stupid and rode on a day when there was ice on the ground...found some...lol broke my femur and totaled the gsxr. couple months later, i was back on my harley. Whether its a moped, a hayabusa, or a harley, doesnt matter, as long as youre on 2 wheels!

i ride my harley with several friends who ride crotch rockets, they ride just like i do. smart (now...lol) if they wanna act a fool, they do so on a track.
