ZJ Viera Compilation + Bounce Landing!!

Here's a short compilation of the ZJ Viera Ultralight Aircraft flying at the 2009 Sun N Fun
fly-in at Lakeland Florida. There was a very stiff 13-15 mph wind the whole day, with stronger gusts. The plane weighs around 160 lbs empty, and is powered by a 27hp Fly 200 engine(same engine used in many paragliders). At one point the pilot intentionally makes a hard "bounce" landing, probably to satisfy the people wondering about the strength of that strange engine pylon! This grass ultralight airstrip is probably my favorite part of the fly-in! Look for this plane at Oshkosh.

I'm pretty sure that's what I heard him say to the flightline crew, though I couldn't swear to it. But he was in total control the whole time (probably more than a dozen takeoffs and landings) despite the windy conditions, so I think it was intentional.

 I want one of those planes!!!!!!

At 1:534 the aircraft is stalled, look at the tailplane with full aft stick and the nose dropping. No skill required to do this judging by the contact with the ground.

Very lucky to get away with this, a few feet lower and I bet it would have been painfull :o)

Why does the person filming this stand behind buildings and people? Does the cameraman want obstructions? So dumb.
