If people don't do these things then there would be nothing other than plain old boring nothingness. The whole UK government is complaining about kids being obese and that they need to get out doing more things. This is the kind of thing that will inspire all, not just fat kids, all kids with a flair for riding. Its an open space for people to enjoy, if you would prefer to enjoy it on a bike then so be it, at least they are doing something instead of moaning like you because you can't be arsed.

I agree 100% that everyone (not just kids) needs to get off the couch. But that has to come with stewardship. We have vastly more open space per person in the U.S. than you have in the U.K., and still not enough for everyone to ride it like the guys in these videos, or hike off trails, or whatever. It's about being responsible. Seriously, there are hard, fun established trails. If it's not hard enough, go through the right channels to establish a new harder one. Don't poach clean lines.

Oh stop the preaching already. The people I know who do serious mountain biking love nature - that's why they ride the outdoors! It takes an appreciation of the natural world to respect it and want to preserve it.
