  • Im so proud of my mum, she has got more beautiful over the years :) wish id been around to have been in the audience of the Eurovision but thats impossible... this is where she met my dad :)

  • @twinkletoesIRL I like her Luxembourgish entry very much, so I hope all is well with your mother! many greetings!

  • A beautiful, intimate and touching ballad. Geraldine's accent is as non-French as it can get, but she still sings very well (and she is just beautiful, isn't she?).

  • For me she is the most beautiful artist in the Eurovision Song Contest 1975!

  • wow her daughter Danielle looks so much like her, near identical. Lovely lady in every way possible

  • @twinkletoesIRL Your dad wasn't the only one who fell in love with your mum. So did I when I saw her singing this song on the television.

  • Never knew Geraldine sang in the ESC, Geraldine is every bit as beautiful and also every bit a great singer, i saw Geraldine in a country show back at home in Belfast a year ago or so at the Waterfront hall, she was fantastic and a lovely warm hearted lady, who still have the beautiful long hair and slender figure, If im not wrong i believe Geraldine is married to one of our hero's from Derry, (naw not Fergal) none other that the great Phil Coulter, two great artists I really respect

  • @twinkletoesIRL I fell in love with your mum that year (watching on TV) and watching this again now brings back happy memories.

  • @twinkletoesIRL This is one of my favourite eurovision entries of all time and how this didnt win is unbelievable.

  • very very nice song!

  • @twinkletoesIRL I remember watchin' and da whole of Ireland asked why we didn't have the beautiful Geraldine Brannigan singing for us? She was ( and I assume still is ) a stunner and a great artiste in her day. you should be very proud of her!

  • Funny, I never crossed a "Eurovision Child"! Cheers 2 that!

And yes, I was almost 16 in 1975 and following the Contest since 1971... and surely I can remember THAT DRESS she wore ... the song was nice but maybe she'd won two or three years earlier, ... what I didn't know, that she is Irish!

Ah les Luxembougeois empruntaient leurs chanteurs de tous les pays européens et avec beaucoup de succès!

  • @MegaPellepop

Thanks a lot :) Yes im a ESC result that my mum is much happier with rather than a few points hahaha, its not just me, ive got 5 brothers and sisters too. My dad spotted her on a Guinness advertisement in Ireland and his interest started from there. My mum had never spoken a word of french and had to learn it and take some classes along with learning the song. Im not a fan of the song but love ESC and I like watching songs from different years, only this is more special to me :)

  • I`m not such a Fan of that song. 1975 was the best Eurovision year in the 70s and so many good and brilliant songs had such a bad ranking at the end and they was so much better than this, like Germany, Turkey, Yugoslavia, Belgium, Spain etc. and she was No.5 at the end! i think this is not a Top Ten Song!
