Leslie Crocker Snyder Exposed

While Snyder is campaigning that she advocates for reform of the Rockefeller Drug Laws and only sentenced kingpins to harsh sentences this is not true. She only does so seeking the black and Latino vote. Jose Garcia was a low level offender who was sentenced to 15 years to life by Snyder. He was 69 years old when he died in prison leaving behind his wife and children

Now two former Rockefeller offenders Terrance Stevens (founder of In Arms Reach http://inarmsreach.net )and Anthony Papa speak out. Stevens was sentenced to 15 to Life and did time with and was Garcia's friend. Anthony Papa a leading Rockefeller reform advocate who was also sentenced to 15 to Life (http://www.15yearstolife.com/ )
led a prayer vigil in front of former Governor Patakis NYC office in Jose Garcia's name when he died.

If you read the Snyder literature she is handing out herself she claims she lead the movement to reform the Rockefeller Drug Laws. She claims to only have sentenced kingpins to big sentences. But she sentenced Terrance's friend Jose Garcia to 15 years to life and he died in prison at 69 years old.

Mr Pappa: I agree that reform of NY's drug laws is needed. But your dishonesty is not the way to get there. Why not start by apologizing for this misleading video which implies some connection between Judge Snyder and the Terrance Stevens case - when in fact there was NONE. As for Mr. Garcia: Judge Snyder sentenced him to the MINIMUM sentence possible under NY law and expressed remorse from the bench over being required to impose so long a sentence.

I will apologize when Judge Snyder apologizes for misleading the public that she led the reform of the Rockefeller Drug Laws. Where was she when activists like myself for for many years to change the laws. No where to be found is the answer.  I was on a TV show in 1999 when she bragged about putting away people like Jose Garcia who died in prison.

She was not even the judge who sentenced him -- he got caught in ERIE County and she was a judge in New York County. Can't they find a better spokesman than a commuting drug dealer or is that the only person they could find for their smear campaign.
