Try flying on a United States Air Force C-17 or KC-10 cargo aircraft. I fly with them for free but ear plugs are needed. Noisy but free!!!

@CTPTheGreat That could be because the engines are much quieter than Most others. Also this is an early A380, Newer ones have quieter flaps

flap retraction is based on how fast the plane is going, / whether its going fast enough to retract the flaps without stalling lol

The flaps are not noisy, the plane is so quiet that you hear things that you normally don't hear. In a 777 you won't hear the flaps - no wonder.

Those A380 flaps noise are music to my ears, just as in some 777s.
