My pen crapped out even though I have not dropped it. It stays in it's "coffin" (a fancy wooden pen case with inner foam) when not in use but the bugger suddenly did not work when I planned to use it yesterday.
It keeps selecting things on the desktop everywhere even though it's just barely touching the pad as you can see in the video. So I thought the problem is with a broken coil as described here http://abiamy.com/abiyasablogs/2008/04/06/fixing-a-broken-wacom-pen/. I guess I had to return the pen for repair or buy a replacement.
Good thing my old circa 1997 graphire pen is compatible with this Bamboo. I dunno why it worked in Vista using the latest driver (521-6a). I almost donated this old serial tablet because there's no compatible Vista driver for it.
It's not fun that the pen will just crap out like that. WACOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@workcubed Thanks for the reply!
Actually, I don't know what did exactly happen to her pen.. First I thought that the pen tip was broken and was pushed in (it disappeared all of a sudden!), but I guess the nib fell off because I inserted another one and wow it is good as new! Yay!

@AnOnAQ8 It's doable. I sort of fixed it, by putting the eraser sensor in the tip. Was working ok, but I had to open it up again because the button wasn't functioning properly. In the process of opening it, I ended up totally destroying the thing. Use force at first, but be careful after. And make sure you take a picture of how it looks before you start messing with it. Would have helped me out. Good luck!

@workcubed Did you manage to fix it?
My friend broke her pen and I would like to fix it :(
Thanks!

@30Mak30 you can do it manually inside the .tabletperfs file or in the UI screen at the "About" button. If you can't find it, you have to ask a bit more technically IT inclined person to help you at your PC.

At the eraser part there is a black rubber disk and a clear plastic one. When I took the pen apart I accidentally sent the two pieces flying into my lap. Does anyone or the author of this video know where these two pieces go exactly?

I had a different pen than this, the one that comes with the Bamboo Pen and Touch. For people struggling to get it open, you seriously have to pull really really hard to get it to come apart. No twisting, just using something rubber to get a grip and pulling that bastard. Took more time for that than it did for me to break it worse once I could get to the components.
