I bought a Aspire 5516 5 months ago and the screen frame is falling off. I have a dell dimension b110 that has xp and is 6 years old and have never had a problem with it.

Not exactly.

The same manufacturing company may have to make products according to differing standards as specified by their clients. Some standards may be more stringent than others and a good bit of how well (or poorly) a product may be made by an OEM is how much the client is willing to pay for quality.

In addition, Quanta must make products according to designs created by their clients. That aspect is out of their hands. Apple may have one design while, say, Dell may have another.

I bought an acer exactly 1 year and three months ago it came with an acer 19 inch screen that broke within 6 months and had to be replaced and now i think the power supply completly failed because the computer wont even give power to the mouse or the screen or keyboard and the 1 year warranty is up so ill probably get bitched $600.00 in the garbage Acer sucks.
