This 4-minute exercise presents you with a chance to practice mindfulness skills... with practice, mindfulness can help you come more fully into the present moment and move away from mental distractions. Please feel free to download for use on the go... brought to you by the psychologists of the adult mental health service in Halifax, Canada (contact: andrew.starzomski@cdha.nshealth.ca)

  • @spiderlady714 ...sorry it is not your cup of tea, hope you find others you like better. take care.

  • What i would like to be added is a good breathing exercise beforehand and in the middle observing and identifying any sounds that you may hear.

  • @jiser911 - hey thanks... we are working on another one to be posted before long, looking to include these kinds of wishes... take care.

  • @drstar68 That's awesome, I can't wait! Could you tell me where you can download the sound that starts at 1.48?

  • @jiser911 ... wish I could say sounds are all 'original', but the sounds here are all built in to Mac's iLife software, quite a nice array of stuff in there... sounds can do a lot of amazing things to our consciousness, eh? we do a lot of music therapy work at our hospital here (some results at another youtube channel: eastcoastartsandfilm)

  • this is great - one comment: it would be good to have versions of this in different accents, it would be fantastic with a slow-spoken Scottish or Irish accent, for example.
