Hi! I'd love to hear from you guys. I've had a lot of great response from this video. I've heard from so many people that struggle with this disorder. I know how awful it is and I'm still battling it myself with 24/7 dizziness as of 4/30/11.

Please don't hesitate to email me: sshube1@lsu.edu

  • Thanks! Wishing all of my fellow dizzies love & support in 2011. BTW, there is great progress under way right now. Johns Hopkins is developing a bionic ear that can regulate the fluid balance. How awesome is that! The April 2010 issue of Scientific American has an article about it. It has brought hope to me. For now, daily physical therapy & and antidepressant help me a lot. Holler if you wanna know more!

  • @cendrillon0803 Wow! Thanks so much for all of the great information you shared here. I believe our best advocate is to research for ourselves, and hope that someday the research doctors are doing now will lead to a great development. There's way too many people who suffer from this. I'm glad to hear you are finding a good treatment. Good luck!

  • Nice video as it explains it pretty well. I'm in the exact same boat. Balance issues, vertigo, feel sick and have some degree of dizziness virtually 24/7. Personally, I'd rather have something more "serious" than dealing with this. Sadly there's nothing they can really do. VRT was essentially a waste of time. Before I had this, I had no clue how critical the inner ear (vestibular) function is. It affects your thinking, vision, balance, hearing, etc.

  • @toeazy34 I agree. What we struggle with the most is that we look normal, but are suffering tremendously in our bodies, so mostly when we complain, it seems like it's all in our heads. I've talked to many of people who have this disorder and struggle with that part of it. It's very sad to hear about. Hope that you have found some kind of treatment to help you.

  • Hi! Thanks for your video and putting the word out about vestibular disorders. I have recurrent vestibular neuritis and my symptoms are just as you describe.Bleah!

Keep on taking life one day at a time. Wishing you recovery in 2010.

  • @cendrillon0803 Hi! Thanks so much for your kind words. I'm so sorry you're dealing with this as it's a horrendous disorder. Wishing you a good year as well. Keep strong!

  • Don't be down on yourself. You don't sound stupid to me. Matter of fact, you seem like a very intelligent girl. I am an audiology student so I understand what you are talking about. I hope that you are seeing a specialist about your condition. There are treatments to help your condition. Good luck.

  • @Lorilicious100 hope you feel better also thank you!!!

  • Does anyone else feel that their off-balance dizzy feelings get worse with stress and anxiety? ughh its so frustrating.

  • I think I may have that like a yesterday I suddenly felt a high fealing . And pressure on my left eye and ear . May be it's allergies . Btw there was a spider on the wall

  • wow. its crazy how many people have this!

Ive been dealing with this vertigo/dizziness for 2 and a half years.... got it out of nowhere!! im 22 .. its just so difficult to deal with when i was so happy and active before this happened to me. ..what upsets me most is that people do not understand.. recently got diagnosed with vestibular migraines....but im still convinced its more related to inner ear damage from a virus.

FEEL BETTER EVERYONE!! we will get through this =)

  • @matth00423 Yes! I have had chronic disequilibrium, "dizziness" they call it, for over 3 years straight. It's been pretty crazy! But you learn to deal with it after a while.
