  • I'm a first time mom, and completely new to the idea of cloth diapering. Do you ever pre-soak your diapers in order to disinfect before washing? If so, what do you use? I've read that you can use water, baking soda and tea tree/lavender oil, but I want to be sure to disinfect them as well as keep them smelling fresh. Any ideas? Thanks!

  • @downtoawhisper I don't pre-soak them every time but I like to pre-soak them every few months or so to freshen them up a bit. When I do pre-soak I keep it simple and fill the washer with hot water, add 4 tbsp of detergent (I use Tide powder original), add my diapers, let the washer agitate for a few minutes and then shut if off and let them soak in the washer overnight. In the morning I restart the cycle and let it finish. Then I follow with 2 additional hot washes with no detergent.

  • What brand of biodegradable liner do you use? Thanks for the video!

  • @TACSmom Motherease biodegradable liners.

  • What type diaper (brand) is the purple one you were demonstrating with?

  • @dsugartwist A onesize Pooters bamboo pocket.

  • do you use the biodegradable liners with the inserts??? or just the liners?

  • @coowillproductions

    Thanks!

  • Very informative! I'm considering making cloth diapers to sell, and since my 'babies' are 20, 22, and 23, I'm a little rusty on the particulars! Thanks for the info...

  • I saw a few videos about how to change a cloth diaper, but they only seemed to cover the basics, like how to fold it or change a pee diaper. I know they certainly won't all be pee diapers! Thanks for the tips & advice! I'm glad to know that breastfed baby's poo diapers can go straight in the washer!

Only problem I had was that I couldn't hear a word you said (audio prob?), so I used "transcribe audio" for captions. It didn't seem to quite understand your accent, so some funny sentences in there.

  • Thank you!! This Mommy appreciates your straight forward info!

  • This is probably the best video that Ive seen for this particular topic. Good information that is well communicated. Thanks!
