It's not really an accent thing, Ellie Goulding (original singer) is also English. I don't know why he's pronouncing the a like an o, and being English myself I can tell you that nobody I know does that. His pronounciation on "starry" is far better at 2:12 though, and I wish he'd pronounced it more like that throughout the song.
