Ok.. the Joker used Harley as a twig. I have to agree with WolverineLoves Me.He could kill her right away, but he did NOT. Harley did NOT get killed when the Joker pushed her out the window. My grandkid Jordan I let write all this, but thats not all.Jordan even made a sequel called Joker:The Giant Pie.

well i think harly quinn represents some women who have abusive boyfriends . they dont give a carp about them yet the girl thinks she can change him. Message! if he or she hits you once he WILL do it again

@WolverineLovesMe Yes, he CAN do things without her, but why would he? It just helps to have her around to push around like a slave. Remember, he CONSISTENTLY abandons her and never tries to save her. He'd kill her in a second if he felt the whim. He is incapable of feeling anything more than base emotions towards others; that's what makes him so scary, and what makes him such a great character.

@tikifreakazoid He may not love her, but he feels something for her. Why else would he keep her around? She's useful, but he was just fine before she showed up and he'd be fine without her. In the beginning he probably manipulated her for his own desires, but at some point I think he actually started to like her. But he's the Joker and having feelings for someone would not only be a sign of weakness (he is supposed to be a sociopath) but she could be used against him.

@WolverineLovesMe No. Joker doesn't love anybody, he's a sociopathic maniac. What connection does he feel towards Harley? He manipulated her for his own selfish desires when they met; that doesn't seem like someone who loves her. The whole point of their relationship is that he HATES her, but he knows he can use and abuse her to get what he wants. That's the whole reason it works, it doesn't need people shipping romance into it.

@tikifreakazoid That's not entirely true. The Killing Joke was just to show the Joker's backstory and went along with his idea that one bad day can drive someone insane. It didn't mean that he can't move on from his first wife. And he has shown moments where he cares for Harley. I agree with NowKnownAsTex. He distances himself because he loves her. We could also say he pushes her away because he's afraid of losing someone important to him again.

@cyber151 harley is smart and joker is an idiot? okay point me to the book you read that lead you to believe that. so that I may burn it.
-
@NowKnownAsTex No, he's just a ruthless fuck. And if we are to believe the story of The Killing Joke, then The Joker is always going to remain deeply faithful to his first wife, and the fact that Harley tries to force herself on him disgusts him to the core.
