What a record Duran had coming in to this fight.

@jamieleeii Yes, But Duran came from the school of engaging through the whole fight.. Man to man.. tough as few. Not by dancing around. Not saying that Leonard didint fight this fight perfect, cause he did. But i think from Durans point of wiev, he didint fight, he danced and was clowning. and he got frustrated and didint think Ray was fighting him as a man should.

@connymat Leonard stood toe to to toe and fought Duran in their first fight. He went all 15 rounds fighting Duran's type of fight. In the second fight Leonard switched up and fought Leonard's style of fight. Duran couldn't handle it and quit. Leonard displayed 2 different styles of fighting. Enough said. Either way people like you will complain about Leonard. Sugar Ray Leonard showed that he was a versatile fighter vs Duran.

@TheChoice264 Never said Duran was a brawler. Re-read. I know he was an amazingly skilled boxer. He's one of my favorites. All I was saying was Leonard was too quick for Duran this fight, and Duran kept moving in. Watch the fight, he always comes in like a brawler or in-boxer. Remember that Duran was from the streets. He's got the intensity of a street fighter with the skills of an elite boxer. Dangerous combo. But Leonard was clowning, you're right about that.

@fightwildlivewild Wrong. Duran wasnt much of a brawler. The word "brawler" is so over-used for a boxer who comes forward and the word "boxer" is so over-used for a guy who sticks, circles and ties up or moves backwards. Duran was actually a very skilled boxer. He was no Marciano or Armstrong. He actually had more boxing skill than Leonard. It wasnt Ray's boxing that frustrated Duran to the point of quitting, but the clowning.

What a fight! Whether or not Duran actually was suffering from stomach cramps, it was obvious to see how frustrated Robinson was making him for the entire fight. Leonard boxed smart in this fight, having learned from the first one, by not engaging and by annoying Duran, he did exactly what he needed to to gain the advantage. Going toe to toe with him would have been pointless. This fight was Robinsons best showcase of his talents, in my opinion.

@casillas989 Uh yea obviously I am serious, why would I not be? It was headline news Duran had his purse held and a lawsuit pending until they saw his medical record.

@casillas989 He had medical records that showed he had a stomach problem, that is why they gave him his purse after this fight. That wasn't the only reason he quit I'm sure but a Dr did say it was bad enough to stop.

first fight leonard made the mistake of trying to brawl with Duran...here Leonard is keeping it a boxing match and pissing off Duran...amazing era in boxing no doubt

look at duran 1:32 touching gloves, he never show respect for his opponents....look at his face....that was not the duran we know....he had a looser face that night..i think roberto was intimidated!! check the first fight and you will see what im talking about.....but no excuses!! ray was the better man tha night
