Have you heard!? The Arizona State Legislature recently passed a $141.5 million cut to the Arizona University System - the proposed cuts for FY10 are $388 million - about 40% of the budget for higher education.

Talks have included increasing tuition and fees, closing departments and programs, laying off staff and faculty, decreasing classes offered, increasing class sizes and the High Altitude Training Facility has already been closed at NAU.

Governor Brewer has called for a rare joint session of the Legislature to talk about the FY 10 budget for Wednesday afternoon at 4:00 p.m. It is no coincidence that this is taking place at the same time that thousands of students, parents, and teachers will be at the capitol for the LARGEST event EVER on education!

It is time to tell your friends and family to come to the Capitol - this Wednesday - March 4th for the largest rally for education - free buses from NAU leave at 1pm from behind Cline Library - reserve your seat today because space is limited!

  • I agree with v8r, and I am also a bit offended that you would use people with these kinds of fake personalities to represent the student body. If you want people to take this seriously, as they should be, then you should also be taking it seriously. You should have taken a much more mature, professional approach to this. Try again later, though I guess it's too late now since the protest is over. I'm studying abroad in Japan, else I would come, myself.

  • Looks more like a "trying to be funny" and mocking commercial than anything. This should have been done way better to get a a stronger response. Try getting some professional help, use your schools resources while they last.
