This song has always been a dream to me.......so the words go along quite well with my dream :-)I have always loved this song mostly because it reminds me of the most beautiful person i know.....my wife!!!!!!!To be on a beach...a nice fire at night to stay warm....some wine and shrimp cooking on a grill and keylime pie chilling in a cooler for dessert...running along the beach feeling the cool water on your feet before you lay back on a blanket in the sand with your dream...that is paradise :-)

@PolarisYeti Yeah, he DID write "Mandy" but FIRST sang it as "Brandi". MANDY fit MUCH better! In fact, I've still got the original recording where he used "Brandi" in it before putting the song out on record and changing the girl's name to MANDY. It just sounded SO MUCH BETTER!

When this songwasstill playing on the radio, I was about to file charges for divorce against my ex-wife. I last sang this song to her just before she got the papers. I DID change onle little part of it,in it where it goes ....."with you there's a heaven, so earth ain't so bad!..I changed it to"With you if there's a heaven, then HELL ain't so bad!"
