  • Just wanted to thank you for the great review on the product, especially the usability insights. I was wondering how long the batteries on the display and remote lasts since they're removable. Are you able to play audio from apps such as the YouTube app?

  • @lg123xyz The display actually is powered from the unit. There is a cable that runs from the mount to the main box. And the remote is still working great. Havent had the replace the battery since install... I expect it will last well beyond the one year mark. As far as the youtube app...I was able to stream it, but it was unreliable. Im able to plug the aux input into the phone's headphone jack though, and that works great. My phone is due an update to fix that streaming issue.

  • @wholemilk2 Hmmm... I've read from a number of posts about little issues with the unit and on the Parrot site there are updates and disclaimers as well about known issues, but my main concern was about the Youtube and iPod movie audio steaming, you said was unreliable, could that have something to do with your connection? or might be hardware?

  • @lg123xyz Nothing to do with my connection. I think it has more to do with my phone (WP7). To be honest with you, since I had to drop my data plan down to save money, I really havent even tried it. Was too afraid of running over my 200mb limit. But I havent tried it. I could do some tests when Im home and getting WiFi in my driveway I guess...maybe Ill do that because I just honestly havent tested the bluetooth streaming that much. Ill get back to you if I do.

  • I should also say that Parrot has been regularily updating the firmware. So lots of things that were bugging me were fixed, and they come out pretty often. Im still VERY happy with the set up!

  • Yeah there is a very easy way to turn the voice off. I should have played with it more before my video. Its better without her yapping. USB audio seems ok to me through the speakers. If you wire the unit through an aux input it sounds as good as your stereo. Its no audiophile setup, but its great for me. The internal amp drives my stock monsoon speakers fine.

  • @0000kris0000 Great video as well by the way!

  • If my stereo is currently wired through 4 in car speakers and also an amp which is connected to a sub woofer, will the Parrot kit stream music from my iphone through the whole speaker set up if its running off its own amp? Would appreciate a reply, thanks.

  • @wholemilk2 Thanks for your reply, its ok I've contacted Parrot directly and they informed me it was possible to stream app audio but only for the Mki9100 and 9200 models not the 9000 and only with firmware 1.95 and higher. I've just seen so many weird usability issues from other users but hopefully it's all been resolved with the latest firmware updates. 200mb isn't much at all... I have 6 GB and still I have to becareful to go over because I do streaming video.

  • Hey man, great review.Have you found a way to turn the voice off when you're browsing through the settings? And how is the sound quality when you're playing songs from a usb stick?
