First attempt for a green rocket flare. Parachute from plastic bag.
BP rocket core burner 30mm inner diameter.
Green is Shimizu brilliant green comp.
Unforunately a windy day so rocket did not go streight.
The system worked fine.
Here is a link for how to make it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ug5wMLXeMXo
Thanks to Nichropulse for the instructions.

  • Great to see someone else succeed at parachutes as well! I would strongly recommend using paper parachutes though, as plastic melts and isn't environmental friendly. When choosing your paper and wadding carefully it won't burn.

  • Thanks dude. I've seen your parachute vid. It was a shell and went much higher.

    Mine opened at about 100m.

Next time I'll make a smaller diameter core so rocket thrust lasts longer.

Also paper parachute will be the material choice. Its lighter after all.
