@nikonlover1 but how come the people who made mst3k didn't get in trouble when they used real films they didn't own. Several directors of movies featured on that show actually suggested their movies be made fun of.

It's called "fair use". this is an example of fair use. Good day.

@nelishoofd - How would you like it if you posted some work of art; say some home movie that you created and tirelessly edited, then Hollywood took that film and re-sequenced it into a dorky parody? You wouldn't like that at all, because not only would you be insulted, but it would also diminish the quality of your film. Same holds true vice-versa. Real people work on these films, and just because they're publicized doesn't give people the right to just arbitrarily alter them as they see fit.

@nelishoofd - I beg to differ. This is not legal. This is tampering with copyrighted works. Taking clips from a film and then rearranging them out of sequence, for any reason, is absolutely considered tampering. You might think it's funny, but those who created this film do not. As I said, this is exactly the reason why it is that Hollywood gets so pissed-off about this sort of thing. (cont'd)
