Dr. Muhammed Javed, with help from our pediatric staff created a video to honor a role model pediatrician, Dr. Mary Schultz, who in this past year was diagnosed with colon cancer. She has been a role model, a mentor, friend, and teacher. In this past year, we have watched as she fights cancer with grace, class, and a forever endearing smile. This video is to inspire her to keep fighting and that we are all behind her efforts. Blue is the color designated for colon cancer awareness and we wear our blue coats and blue gloves proudly to celebrate life and honor all those waging the fight with colon cancer. The song, "Someday" is an original piece composed specifically for this video by Mike Kramer and lyrics/vocals done by Allie Feder. Someday we will find the cure to cancer, but until then, prevention is key.
Thank you for all the smiles and awareness.

This is what medicine is all about: caring for body and soul. Great job, OSF. Now, can you get this on WHOI Health Minute as a public service reminder for colon cancer prevention? Jeanne Smith, MD
