Frank Fontaine didcthis same character, under a different name, on the Jack Benny radio show, more than 10 years before this. I'd say he's funny for a while, but a little bit of Frank Fontaine goes a long way, and it gets tiresome. I would agree this routine owes something to the Finnigan character on Duffy's Tavern, played by Charlie Cantor, but Cantor never got tiresome.

What a riot !!!! I love Crazy's laugh.......However, today, his character wouldn't be allowed on tv because those advocates for the mentally ill or retraded individuals would prohibit the industry from airing a character like Crazy's...Sort of sad though, because Fontaine was hilarious....A great talent...

Was Jackie still doing the show live in '62? The girl at the beginning totally misses her cue, and if it were taped, I have to believe they would have reshot.

@DayZmusicTV Oh, how blessed are you to be related to the great Herbert John Gleason--his contribution to the entertainment industry will NEVER be forgotten.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
