INTEGRALE VESTITO CHANNEL - The death of Formula One triple world champion Ayrton Senna, on May 1, 1994, resulted from a crash that occurred while he was leading the 1994 San Marino Grand Prix at the Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari in Italy. The accidents of Senna and Roland Ratzenberger (the previous day) were the first fatal accidents in Formula One in eight years, and were the worst of several accidents to take place during the race meeting.

There have been many attempted explanations for the cause of his death, but no consensus has been reached. His death was a turning point in the safety of Formula One, as many safety measures have since been implemented. The Grand Prix Drivers' Association was reformed later in 1994, and the association has contributed to these changes.

I've kept an open mind to all of the theories, such as Ayrton passing out, the car bottoming out, etc. but the only answer that fits the evidence is a broken steering column. The proof is at 6:56 of this video. The steering column breaks completely free. That's why his body leans left. In a racing car, you brace yourself with your feet on the pedals/footrest and with your hands on the wheel. When the column breaks, his body leans left because he can no longer brace himself with the wheel.
