Well, to make of it what I will - I thought the doorway is like an experience or something that changes us mentally, but here it is shown physically, to show how much of an impact little things can have on us.

It's not George Lucas, it is actually a Steven Spielberg Lego Minifig. Lego made a Steven Spielberg 'Director' minifig to go with their Lego Studios Film sets series.
