When the people of every nation/land on this planet take control of their own governments and run them as they see fit, most of the nations will see peace; many of them for the first time in many decades.
We, the People of the USA, were once in the greatest position to be the example to the world as to how the People should control government. We can get there again.
When we as a nation have what others want for themselves, they will copy our plans and our action without our military.

They are needed as an expression of faith in the American Dream even in tough times.

sometimes arlo shouldn't say words! now don't get me wrong! this is the real american national anthem. but some of those more, uh, topical verses about the relief office etc...well, could we just kind of skip them? and please, no lectures about new orleans, we all know how america has continually failed its working people. the core verses are just perfect, tho. i've never heard the essence of the american dream so beautifully and movingly stated. its up to us to organize for change.

What about people all over the World? It is not realy about America, China, Russia, India, or anywhere else. It is about you and me as citizens of one World...One World where people starve daily, war often, and destroy the ecology. Arlo comes from a culture of people who were desperate to change it...But we didn't. It's just the same. Change has to start in human hearts, and with the help of God. Love and Peace, and be nice to each other.

Why do so many people have to make such ignorant comments??? I love Arlo. I saw him about 27 years ago when he came to play at my college. It was the best night!!! He told so many great stories and sang so many good songs. Wow...I'd love to see him live again.

American Crap. Just sing the fucking song and cut the crap

american patriottism,fuck it

Arlo is great because he knows what America is Supposed to be. Patriotism is not pretending that everything is ok when its not. A few people still know that.

WHERES THE LAST VERSE:
In the squares of the city - In the shadow of the steeple
Near the relief office - I see my people
And some are grumblin' and some are wonderin'
If this land's still made for you and me.
