Imagine a world where George Bush was never appointed by the supreme court to be president(he didn't really win the election in 2000). What a different and better world this would be. Imagine no 9/11, no wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, no thousands of dead soldiers, no millions of dead Iraqi's and Afghani's. We would be a lot closer to John Lennon's vision, rather than never further away like we are now. It's a shame that to die is the only way to find peace. RIP John Lennon

Wow, a lot of people seem to have some wrong information. That 36% spent on DEFENSE goes to defense for a reason. The problem is when defense really becomes invasion.

Dropping Nukes on Hiroshima and Nagasake actually lowered the projected Japanese death total by about 10-20 times the number the bombs actually killed.

WWII was our last just war though, we should never have been in Khorea, Vietnam, or Iraq, and Afganistan should have been over before the week was out.

@KILLSWITCHnut What everyone is trying to say here, isn't that the US troops are bad, or that America (the country, not the governemnt) is bad, just that war is a shitty thing, so why the fuck is it still a thing? Why doesn't the US spend more money on peace campaigns? Right now around 36% of our budget is spent on defense. Why can't we take a minute fraction of that and advocate peace, just for a while to try it and see what happens? I don't see how that could hurt anyone.

Not disrespecting anyone. I have close friends that have been to Iraq and Afghanistan and they feel the same way.

@KILLSWITCHnut Who cares how many we killed. The fact is we did not make Iraq any better than it was under Saddam. We should not have allowed him to invade Kuwait, that was right. But, following up on a personal vendetta to make his Daddy look better by taking out Saddam was not. The truth is, it is still all about oil and not about human rights or concern for the Iraqi or Libyan people. The other fact, is the U.S. is in no position to try to govern the world. We cannot even run our own country!
