    I have a 66' type one and it doesn't have it. I actually have seen bugs from the mid- late 50's without it. When were they taken out?

  • That is a beautiful car, and the music was perfect for this video, i like it a lot.

  • Re the starter button..Yes, all VW Sedan's certainly had them as standard from 1946 and I am 99% sure that they were there from 1938 prototypes.The choke control was a pull up knob on the centre tunnel between the seats along with another marked "L" for Luft which opened the flaps to allow warm engine air flowing over the oil cooler to enter the passenger compartment....which was rather unsuccessful and inclined to be dangerous!
